The latest RoboCop movie, in 2014, revolutionized the art of storytelling! It’s a new science fiction action film.
Because who needs mundane, down-to-earth drama when you can have cyborgs patrolling the streets, right? A ‘reboot’ of the beloved 1987 classic, because clearly, the first one just wasn’t futuristic enough. Directed by José Padilha, who obviously had a master plan to replace all human cops with robotic ones. And starring Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, the man who had the incredible misfortune of becoming RoboCop.

The film delves deep into profound ‘technology, ethics, and law enforcement’ questions, because nothing says ‘thought-provoking’ like a half-human, half-machine police officer. And though it might not have reached the same ‘iconic status’ as the original, it did succeed in introducing RoboCop to a whole new generation, because what the world needed was more metallic justice and fewer mere mortals.
Who needs a classic ‘good cop, bad cop’ routine when you can have RoboCop, the ultimate crime-fighting machine? I mean, who needs empathy, emotions, and that whole ‘human touch’ when you can have a guy who’s part human, part tank, and all law enforcement?
